Our Robotics Competition teams have a maximum team size of 8 students per team.

Competition season runs from September to May with students competing locally and statewide. Using LEGO® Spike Prime kits and extensions students collaborate to program the robot to fulfill tasks. A custom map is provided to each team based on a specific team.

At BrickEd & More® our robotics competitions are different. Our focus is on the application of career integration and connections, coding, and robot design to solve a problem.

The theme for the 2024-25 School Year is “The Domino Effect!

Kindergarten – 2nd Grade Team

Using the Sphero® Indi robot, even students in grades K-2 get a chance to compete using robotics! The Sphero® Indi uses its color sensor to detect colors that in turn programs the robot to drive in a certain pathway. During the competition season students learn skills like collaboration, problem solving, teamwork, and much more!

3rd – 5th Grade Robotics Teams

One of our most popular programs is the robotics competition team for grades 3-5 students. Using the Spike Prime robot by LEGO® Education, students utilize both block and python-based coding languages to program robots to accomplish specific tasks. Throughout the competition season students are learning real world skills and applications that are vital in society today. As a team they work through the engineering design process to plan, develop, test, and improve their robot until completion of their tasks provided to them. They are then put to the test against other teams in their district and/or state in competition!
